| A '''Cricket Pie''' is a delicious-looking pie made from crickets. During the events of ''[[Super Mario RPG]]'', [[Frogfucius]] sent his "grandson" [[Mallow]] to the [[Mushroom Kingdom]] [[Item Shop]] to purchase the pie for one [[Rare Frog Coin]]. However, while on the way to the shop, the coin was stolen by the greedy thief [[Croco]]. Ultimately, Mallow teams up with the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, [[Mario]], and together they recover the Rare Frog Coin from Croco.

| After the Mushroom Kingdom is liberated from the [[Smithy Gang]], Mallow is able to purchase the pie and return to [[Tadpole Pond]]. When Mallow gives the Cricket Pie to Frogfucius, the ball of fluff receives his first weapon, the [[Froggie Stick]].
