Banjo's first appearance being in Diddy Kong Racing is a very little known fact, since he is much more famous for his adventures with his bird friend, Kazooie, in the spin-off 'Banjo-Kazooie' series by Rareware. These games see Banjo and Kazooie battling against the evil witch, Gruntilda.

Banjo, along with his "pal" Conker will not be appearing in Diddy Kong Racing's Nintendo DS remake/sequel Diddy Kong Racing DS, due to Microsoft now owning the rights to Rareware.

Banjo may also have been set to make a reappearance in the cancelled game Donkey Kong Racing; as Taj the Genie, a character from Diddy Kong Racing was going to appear in it. It is also unknown if Banjo was going to appear in Diddy Kong Racing's cancelled Game Boy Advance sequel, Diddy Kong Pilot; which was converted into a Banjo centered game called Banjo Pilot, featuring characters from Banjo's own series of games.
