Paon DP is a Japanese video game company founded on January 20, 1999. This company was originally simply called Paon Corporation, but merged in 2015 with DP Co., Ltd. to receive its current name. Following the departure of Rare from Nintendo, Paon worked on some games in the Donkey Kong franchise in the 2000s, developing the DK series (DK: King of Swing and DK: Jungle Climber) and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast alongside Nintendo SPD Group No.4. Paon also co-developed Mario & Luigi: Dream Team alongside AlphaDream, and assisted in the development of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Following Rare's departure from Nintendo, rights to work and build upon the Donkey Kong series were given to them. Thus far, they have presented fans with games like DK Jungle Climber, DK Barrel Blast, and DK King of Swing.
