Alexandru Georgescu is a Romanian theatre and film actor. Born in Pitești, Romania,[1] he graduated from the I.L. Caragiale Institute of Theatre and Film Arts in 1972[1] and went on to play in films such as Radu Mihăileanu's Train of Life, Radu Jude's Lampa cu căciulă (Eng. The Hatted Lamp), and Radu Muntean's Un etaj mai jos (Eng. One Floor Below). He is a guest actor at the National Theatre Bucharest.[1]

Outside of his onstage performances, Georgescu is a voice actor, having dubbed characters such as Don in Monsters University and Bagheera in the 2016 adaptation of The Jungle Book. In the Romanian dub of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, he voices Cranky Kong.
