The player in the [[barrel]] must reach the goal line while being bumped by [[Chain Chomp]]s as few times as possible. The player can avoid being bumped by one of the Chain Chomps by hiding in the barrel. If the player does not hide in the barrel when the Chain Chomp charges at the barrel, they are momentarily stunned, and cannot move. If the player does not reach the goal within the time limit, they lose.
The player in the [[barrel]] must reach the goal line while being bumped by [[Chain Chomp]]s as few times as possible. The player can avoid being bumped by one of the Chain Chomps by hiding in the barrel. Alternatively, if the player is far enough from the Chain Chomp, it is not able to reach them. If the player does not hide in the barrel when the Chain Chomp charges at it, they are knocked backwards and momentarily stunned, being unable to move for three seconds.

In the Play Land version of the game, the course is longer, and the player must instead make it to the goal to earn the fastest time.
The player has 60 seconds to clear the minigame in Shroom City and Mini-Game Attack. The course is largely different between the aforementioned two modes; the Mini-Game Attack version contains fewer Chain Chomps than the Shroom City version. In Play Land, the course is longer, and the player must instead make it to the goal to earn the fastest time.
