An Octo is a small orange octopus, similar to the squid-like Blooper. They have only appeared in the game Yoshi's Safari. During the events of the game, Octos aided Bowser and his Koopalings during the subjugation of Jewelry Land.
Mario and Yoshi encountered Octos in the fourth level of the Light World, Crescent Coast. While traveling underwater, the two heroes had to fight off an assault from these weak creatures. The Octopota, a giant jar-like creature, launched wave after wave of Octos at Mario and Yoshi. Fortunately, the small cephalopods could be easily destroyed with a couple blasts from Mario’s Super Scope. After shattering the Octopota, the Octos disappeared with their creator, never to be seen again.

King Magma Blooper from Super Mario Galaxy bears a resemblance to the Octos.
