The template pertains to articles by default; to make it about a specific section instead, type {{rewrite|section=yes}}.
A specific reason for the rewrite request must be added as a parameter (e.g. {{rewrite|Poor grammar}}, or {{upcoming|section=yes|Poor grammar}} for a section-specific request reason) and it needs to be a clear, actionable point (i.e., simply slapping the template on a page with "bad writing" as the reason is not sufficient), otherwise the template will be removed from whatever page it was applied to. Please also keep improvement notes brief, and if necessary link readers to further improvement suggestions on the article's talk page.
The date that the template is added should also be included as the second parameter (e.g. {{rewrite|Poor grammar|May 6, 2014}}, or {{rewrite|section=yes|Poor grammar|May 6, 2014}} for section-specific requests).
A separate template can be used if the article (or section) needs to be expanded: {{rewrite-expand}}.
