The Suction Shot is a move introduced in Luigi's Mansion 3. After Luigi puts on the Poltergust G-00, if the player holds down and releases Y Button, he will shoot out a suction cup with a long string attached, similar to a plunger. If the suction cup sticks to an object, Luigi can use the Poltergust G-00 to yank the string and then press A Button to smash the object onto the ground, similarly to slamming ghosts. This move is especially useful for destroying furniture, pulling weapons away from ghosts, and uncovering hidden gems. After finding all gems, the Suction Shot Type B becomes available and can be turned on or off at any time while in E. Gadd's lab. It is only aesthetic, turning the plunger into a diamond plunger. It can only stick to the Goob, the Oozer, and the Slinker, but not to a Hammer or a Trapper.

Prior to Luigi's Mansion 3, the Suction Shot first appeared in Simon and Richter's debut trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where Luigi used it in a futile attempt at defending himself from a horde of mummies, only managing to stun one for a couple of seconds at most upon hitting it in the face before causing it to charge at Luigi full speed. In-game, it functions as his grab, having longer range than Luigi's original grab from past installments.
