After drinking excessive amounts of Chuckola Cola, he somehow manages to wedge himself stuck in a crack in the ship. His crew mates refer to him as an "Ostaf" (which is "Fatso" backwards), and he has belching issue. Mario and Luigi are offered a Beanstar piece, in exchange for freeing Bloat from the wall. Using dynamite, the duo blasts Bloat out from the crack, ripping a hole in the ship in which sand from Teehee Valley begins to pour in.
