:Hi. I would split this into {{fakelink|Category:Deceased characters}} and {{fakelink|Category:Deceased people}}. I think it looks better than using parenthesis. --{{User:Henry Tucayo Clay/sig}} 16:29, 19 May 2016 (EDT) | :Hi. ::I think there is a problem with that naming scheme. There are fictional people in that list, such as [[Grandma Mario]] and [[Daisy's mother]]. Sure, character and people makes a distinction, but I don't think the distinction is clear enough. --{{User:Wildgoosespeeder/sig}} 16:37, 19 May 2016 (EDT) | ::I think there is a problem with that naming scheme. :::Fair point. Before anything gets done: is this category even necessary? I'm not entirely sure it is. --{{User:Henry Tucayo Clay/sig}} 16:40, 19 May 2016 (EDT) | |||
:Yeah, that does look a bit strange, doesn't it? I say we go for the split. It'd be easier for users on the wiki who want to find a non-fictional deceased person in a separate page rather than find them scrambled on a page with several fictional characters. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 16:30, 19 May 2016 (EDT) | :Yeah, that does look a bit strange, doesn't it? Why put people in the real world and fictional characters in the same category? Notions that "Satoru Iwata and Cackletta are both deceased" sound weird to me... A gossip-loving Toad (Talk) 03:23, 19 May 2016 (EDT)
- Not to mention Bob Hoskins, Christopher Collins, Danny Wells, Dennis Hopper, Gunpei Yokoi, Hiroshi Yamauchi, Kate Fleming, and Lou Albano. I think we should have Category:Deceased (fictional) and Category:Deceased (non-fictional). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 03:35, 19 May 2016 (EDT)
- I don't know why, probably the one who put it there felt like it needed to be there but Princess Shroob and Bob Hoskins being in a category together doesn't really make sense to me either. I will have a talk with a Sysop and get something sorted. (talk) (edits) 03:55, 19 May 2016 (EDT)
