Princess Peach
Peach using her parasol in Super Paper Mario.

Peach's Parasol (also called Peach's Umbrella) is what Peach uses to defend herself and to glide in the air. It replaces her floating dress ability from Super Mario Bros. 2. Peach has been using this parasol ever since she was a baby.

Her parasol first appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, where it is a weapon. She also uses it to sneak out of Mushroom Castle.

The parasol also appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee where it is a special move. She can glide in the air with it and hit opponents. It also appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, with the same function.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, customization was added. The Peach Parasol variants are Light Parasol and Parasol High Jump. Parasol High Jump has her jump high, but it really doesn't make much use of the parasol, so she becomes helpless after the jump. Light Parasol decreases the initial jump height, but every time she opens the parasol, she'll be able to glide upward for a little bit. After this sequence has been performed four times in a row, she will become helpless.

Princess Peach also uses this parasol in Super Mario Sunshine to protect her from the dangerous heat and she is also seen floating down with it in the ending.

In Super Princess Peach, her parasol actually has a mind of its own. It is implied in-game that this parasol was once a human being until two sorcerer's magic transformed him. She can whack enemies with it and float with it. The parasol can even "eat" enemies to earn Vibe Crystals. In Super Paper Mario, it has a similar function as in Super Princess Peach, except it can no longer eat or directly attack enemies, but the floating and defensive properties are reused.

In Yoshi's Island DS, it is Baby Peach's special move. Yoshi can improve his flutter jump with it, and makes it easy to ride winds.

It also can appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, if the player attempts to shoot Star Bits at or jump on the princess, she will use her parasol to guard.

It makes a small cameo in Super Mario 3D Land where she is whacking Goombas with in a manner similar to Super Princess Peach as shown in a letter sent to Mario after conquering World 6.

In the Mario Party 3 mini-game Parasol Plummet, the parasol that Peach uses has a similar design.

In Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, the parasol is one of the available gliders.

In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, the parasol makes a cameo in the credits.
