Grand Canal
The Grand Canal.

Grand Canal is a Venice-themed boared in Mario Party 7. Here, Singing Shy Guys were everywhere, and were in charge of the Orb Shops and attractions. Landing on the ? Space near the start made the player do a coin game, where the Shy Guys threw coins and Spiny eggs at them (similar to Ukiki from Mario Party 6). Landing on the ? Spaces near the gondala house made a Singing Shy Guy come out asking if they wanted a ride. Accepting this took the player to the gondala house on the other side of the board, collecting coins (and avoiding Spinys) on the way. The ? Space on what looked like the leaning tower of Pisa caused the tower to lean over, dropping players in the water, where Cheep-Cheep sqirted them bck to start. And the ? Space in front of the juggling Blooper activated a guessing game, where Blooper juggled four chests that had a Star, ten coins, a Ztar (which took away a Star if picked), and nothing (in Solo Mode, there was still one Star, but three Ztars).

When Bowser Time came allong, Bowser did one of three things:

  • Took a souvenir photogaraph of all the players, and made them pay 10 coins each for it (20 coins if he got in the way). Then, he leaves without giving anyone the photo.
  • Flattened one of the Orb Shops, and replaced it with one of his own (called Bowser City). Koopa Kid stopped anyone who went by, and threw them in the shop, where Bowser sold them a worthless item for twenty coins.

In Solo Mode, players had to beat their opponent by getting two first the old-fashioned way.
