Vertigo Verge is the fourteenth level in Donkey Kong Land III and the second level of Blackforest Plateau. It takes place in a low mountain range, where Dixie and Kiddy must move through many cliffs and rocky ledges. A rainfall takes place in the level, although it does not affect the Kongs. The Kongs must use both horizontal and vertical ropes to go through the level. There are many Buzzes and Klasps in the level.
Vertigo Verge is the fourteenth level in the Game Boy and Game Boy Color game,  Donkey Kong Land III. Located in the north-west of Blackforest Plateau, it is the second level in this area, as well as the first cliff level.
Layout
When the level begins, the Kongs make their way to a set of horizontal ropes. After they reach the bottom of the last rope, they pass some Kobbles to find a large hill. At the top of this hill, they climb down more horizontal ropes, while avoiding Klasps. Going west from there, they walk down the nearby hill and grab the letter K, finding another rope. It leads them down to a long tightrope, where the Kongs need to continue downwards around a small series of pathways. Once they reach the bottom of that area, they travel to the left and drop down some wooden platforms. Going east from there, they collect the letter O and shimmy down a nearby Buzz infested, rope. Continuing along the rocky surface, they can find more platforms to climb down. If they head east after the final platform, they can find the Star Barrel.

About halfway through the level, the heroes trudge down some more ledge to meet a Koin. Unless they want they DK Coin, they should simply travel to the west and slide down another rope, finding the letter N. After that, they walk up a small hill while avoiding enemies to spy the next rope. It guides them to some horizontal tightropes, which they need to fall down from to reach the next area. There, the apes continue along a long, rigid pathway, collecting the letter G, until they find another rope. Climbing down, they end up on a long tightrope in which they need to move across, heading east, and drop onto some wooden platforms. They soon make their way over a straight pathway to a flagpole. Touching the flagpole will end the level.
This level takes place in a low mountain range, where Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong must thread their way through a labyrinth of cliffs and rocky ledges. The weather is rainy and rather gloomy, and since the stormy clouds are occulting the sun, the whole level is dark, making small enemies such as Sneeks harder to see. To cross the numerous gaps and chasms, the Kongs will have to cling to vertical and horizontal ropes. However, Klasps and Buzzes will try to knock them off, which is reminiscent of both Kreeping Klasps and Ropey Rumpus from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, the game's prequel. Many Kobbles, Knockas and Krumples will attack the Kongs throughout the level as well, thus the player should try to keep Kiddy Kong in order to defeat these tough opponents.

Items and objects
About halfway through the level, the heroes will trudge down some more ledge to meet a Koin. Unless they want they DK Coin, they should simply travel to the west and slide down another rope, finding the letter N. After that, they will walk up a small hill while avoiding enemies to spy the next rope. It will guide them to some horizontal tightropes, which they will need to fall down from to reach the next area. There, the apes will continue along a long, rigid pathway, collecting the letter G, until they find another rope. Climbing down, they will end up on a long tightrope in which they will need to move across, heading east, and drop onto some wooden platforms. They will soon make their way to a strait path to a flagpole. Touching the flagpole will end the level.
The following items and objects appear in the following quantities:
*Bear coin: 1
K-O-N-G Letters
*K: To the left of a banana arrow pointing left.

Bonus Levels
Shortly after the Star Barrel, the Kongs can find a Steel Keg near a rope. From here, Dixie and Kiddy must go southeast of the Star Barrel to find an area with the Koin. To defeat Koin, the Kongs must throw the Steel Keg at the wall behind him, causing it to ricochet and hit Koin from behind. Doing so rewards the Kongs with the DK Coin.
*After the letter K, the heroes will climb down a long rope to find another long tightrope. They will have the option to go either left or right on the rope. They should choose the left passageway and head over to a Bonus Barrel. It will blast them to a Bonus Level where they will need to jump along few horizontal rope while avoiding Klasp to collect stars. If all the stars are collected within thirty seconds, a Bonus Coin will appear at the bottom of the stage.

*After the letter G, the monkeys will make their way down a long rope to land near an arrow, made of bananas, pointing to the right. They should ignore it and continue downwards to soon find a Bonus Barrel. It will blast them into a Bonus Level, where they will need to make it into the end of the stage in twenty seconds, without hitting any enemies. Climbing up a long rope, while avoiding some Buzzes, they will soon make it to a rocky area where they will find more ropes to drop down on. At the bottom of the stage, they will find a Bonus Coin.

DK Coin
*Shortly after the Star Barrel, the group will find a steel keg near a rope. They should carry it to the area below them to find a Koin with the DK Coin. They will need to defeat the enemy to get his coin. This can be done by standing on the foe's shield, distracting him. Then, they should throw their steel keg into the nearest wall. The keg will bounce back and hit the Koin on the side, knocking him out. Once this is done, the Kongs will be given the DK Coin.
Vertigo Verge has two Bonus Levels, listed by type:
<br clear=all>
*Collect the Stars!: After the letter K, the Kongs must go down a long rope to find a long horizontal rope in a three-way route. From the rope, Dixie and Kiddy must climb left and enter a Bonus Barrel. In the Bonus Level, the Kongs have thirty seconds to collect 11 stars. The stars appear around the ropes, which have some Klasps climbing across back and forth. After collecting every star, the Bonus Coin appears at the bottom-right corner.
*Find the Token!: After the letter G, the Kongs must go down a long rope and land near a group of bananas in the shape of a right arrow. Instead of going right, Dixie and Kiddy must go down some horizontal ropes to find second Bonus Barrel underneath a platform on the ground. In the Bonus Level, Dixie or Kiddy have 20 seconds to obtain the Bonus Coin at the end. The Kongs must avoid enemies as they travel to the leftmost area along the way. Dixie or Kiddy must first jump from two horizontal ropes, one of which has a Klasp, then they must climb up a long rope while avoiding two Buzzes along the way. From the top of the rope, the active Kong must jump left and go past a Sneek. From here, the layout is mostly replicated from the start of the Bonus Level, except the Kongs go from top to bottom, and there are two ropes instead of one around the two Buzzes. Dixie and Kiddy can obtain the Bonus Coin at the bottom-left.
