Sudden Death also appears in Super Mario Strikers, Mario Strikers Charged and Mario Strikers: Battle League (referred to as a Golden Goal in the latter) when time runs out while scores are level. When that happens, the team who scores the next goal will win the match. If it occurs in Mario Strikers Charged, then a siren will sound, which signals the start of Sudden Death. In Mario Strikers: Battle League, Golden Goal only lasts for two minutes regardless of how much time was set for the match proper, and unlike the previous two games, it is actually possible to end a match in a draw.
