[[Mario]] has to follow them through the whirls in order to get to [[Belome Temple]] and through it to [[Monstro Town]].

However, sometimes the Shogun quickly changes the whirl it is in, and Mario may also have to fight the Shogun before being able to get into the whirl. When getting into one, he reaches another area of Land's End's desert.
