Snaggles are acquatic enemies in the Donkey Kong Country series that resemble chubby great white sharks. They periodically jump high above the water, making a barking noise similar to a puppy's.

They resemble chubby great white sharks and come in two distinct colors: gray and yellow.

History
Gray Snaggles will stick their heads out of water for a few seconds before jumping in the air in an attempt to eat Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. However, Yellow Snaggles occasionally strike without warning, and will jump out of the water immediately. While they attack, Snaggles bark playfully, similarly to a small dog. Snaggles appear in the Beach area and in the Ruins level Damp Dungeon, where a Mega Snaggles also appears. The only way to defeat a Snaggles is by tossing a barrel.
Donkey Kong Country Returns / Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
In Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Snaggles appear in levels of the Beach world and a Ruins level, Damp Dungeon. They have a repeated pattern of peeking out of the water for a few seconds and then performing a high jump out of it, attempting to bite Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.

Snaggles have a variant named Yellow Snaggles, which immediately jump out the water, sometimes without prior warning. A larger variant appears at the end of Damp Dungeon.
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Snaggles, as well as Yellow Snaggles, chase the Kongs if they are underwater.

The Prima Guide for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D refers to Snaggles as Nibbles; however, the in-game gallery still refers to the enemy as Snaggles.
Trivia
*The Prima Guide for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D refers to Snaggles as "Nibbles", and Super Snaggles as "Jumping Nibbles".
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port, they appear in Lost Mangroves and Sea Breeze Cove. Snaggles act the same way as they did in Donkey Kong Country Returns on the surface, and chase the Kongs if they see them underwater. Snaggles can only be defeated by the Kongs throwing a barrel at it, or by Cranky Kong's cane.
