Getting ground-pounded causes a brother to lose three big stars. The first brother to reach the previously set amount of stars wins the game. When a brother collects eight coins, a random power up appears – Mushroom, Fire Flower, Blue Shell, Mini Mushroom, Starman, or Mega Mushroom (which is only given to the losing player).
