After defeating Mimi in Chapter 6-2: The End of a World, the heroes realize that she had been delaying them from claiming the Pure Heart before the Void destroys Sammer's Kingdom. They try to continue on to the king anyway, but realize that they are too late as soon as they notice the Void has expanded to the point where it consumes the entire dimension. Fortunately, Tippi manages to transport Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser back to Flipside to save the heroes.

Still needing the Pure Heart that King Sammer had possessed, Mario and the others decide to try reentering the Blue Door, confused as to why it still remained. To their horror, they find Sammer's Kingdom completely obliterated. All that remains is a blank, white void with a line for the ground, out of which sticks a few outlines of the kingdom's  ruins. Mario and the others walk onwards through the abyss, eventually finding the Pure Heart, which is now lifeless and turned to stone. Mr. L appears to steal the Pure Heart, and Mario and the others battle him to obtain the Pure Heart. He uses an improved model of the Brobot, the Brobot L-Type, to fight, but is eventually defeated. Mario and the others then return to Flipside to consult Merlon about what to do with the dead Pure Heart.
Was the Pure Heart's power lost forever?

Shortly after they leave, Mr. L returns to consciousness and is visited by Dimentio, who gives him a Game Over, sending him to The Underwhere (and reverting him back to Luigi in the process). Dimentio then appears before Mario, Peach and Bowser in Merlon's house, granting all three of them Game Overs as well. While they were in The Underwhere, Mario finds Queen Jaydes, who repowers the broken Pure Heart so that the heroes can continue on in their quest to destroy the Void and save the world.

The World of Nothing is the setting of Chapter 6-1 in Super Paper Mario after The Void destroys Sammer's Kingdom. The world is almost completely blank—an off-white screen with thin black lines at the borders of the ground. The few remnants of Sammer's Kingdom are scattered sparsely across the world.

After the game is beaten, Sammer's Kingdom is restored to normal and the World of Nothing becomes inaccessible.

Chapter 6-1[edit]

After the Void expands to the point of consuming Sammer's Kingdom in Chapter 6-2, Tippi warps the heroes back to Flipside. However, they notice that the Dimensional Door leading to the world is still there. Since they still need the world's Pure Heart, the heroes enter the door and are shocked to see that all that remains is a blank world.

After traveling through the world for a while, the heroes find the Pure Heart, which has been drained of most of its power and turned to stone. Mr. L then appears, takes the Pure Heart, and fights the heroes inside his upgraded Brobot, Brobot L-type.

After Mr. L is defeated again, Mario and the others return to Flipside with the petrified Pure Heart to consult Merlon about what to do with it. Shortly after they leave, Mr. L regains consciousness and is visited by Dimentio. Dimentio knocks Mr. L out, sending him to The Underwhere and reverting his consciousness to Luigi.
