Template:Levelbox World 9-2 is the second level of World 9 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is unlocked by collecting all of the Star Coins from World 2. This course takes place in a beach setting and plays the beach theme from World 4. Like all levels in World 9, there is no Checkpoint Flag.

Layout

Mario begins the level near two Koopa Paratroopas and a Piranha Plant in a Warp Pipe, along a Porcupuffer that chases from the water below. Mario can then find a regular Koopa Troopa along with a group of Question Blocks and Brick Blocks. Three Switchbacks that descend when Mario touches them are also found along with a beach area with more Koopa Troopas. Mario can use one of their shells to break Brick Blocks, one of which contains a 1-Up Mushroom. Another Switchback can then be found, along with a Warp Pipe that takes Mario to an underwater area where a Cheep Chomp can be found guarding the second Star Coin. After the Switchback, vines that can help Mario cross the water are found, along with more Koopa Paratroopas. After the vines, Mario arrives on a platform where a group of four blocks can be found, one of which contains a P Switch that, when pressed, causes Blue Coins to appear. Following the Blue Coins leads to a Hidden Block with a 1-Up Mushroom inside of it. After the group of blocks, Mario can find a group of Koopa Troopas, along with Stretch Blocks. Hidden Coins can be found above some of the Stretch Blocks. After the Stretch Blocks, a group of Koopa Paratroopas can be found, along with the Goal Pole.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is floating under a descending platform not far from the beginning of the level. Mario and co. must get on the platform and descend to the Star Coin while avoiding the Porcupuffer.
  • Star Coin 2: Soon after the first Star Coin is a long, descending platform to the left of a green Warp Pipe. Mario and co. must get on the descending platform and enter the pipe once it is low enough. This leads to an underwater area with the second Star Coin, several other coins, five wind-blowing pipes, and a Cheep Chomp. Mario and co. must swim to the Star Coin while avoiding the Cheep Chomp.
  • Star Coin 3: Near the end of the level, the third Star Coin is under a platform that is blocked off by Brick Blocks. While avoiding the Porcupuffer, Mario and co. must use the nearby Koopa Troopas' shells to break the Brick Blocks and gain access to the Star Coin.
