Club Nintendo

Shouldn't the Club Nintendo section be under DK64 and Barrel Blast. Sometimes it makes me think they are comics, and the Club Nintendo seems to be in a random place. -- MrConcreteDonkey 08:21, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Squawks species?

I just realised that there are more than just one Squawks in the series, like Quawks (and maybe Tawks and Screech?) or the many Squawks that appear often in Donkey Kong 64 (most notably in the intro and ending), so shouldn't this page be changed into a species page, or maybe treated like the Toads/Yoshis articles, where there's both a page for the species and one for the character? Actually, this question could also applies to seals, due to the existence of Clapper the Seal, and Donkey Kong 64's pirate seal (which the intro shows at the very least two swimming around DK Island). --Metalex123 (talk) 15:03, January 5, 2023 (EST)

Probably not, Squawks always seems to be treated as an individual. The only exception I can find is the Tropical Freeze manual referring to "one Squawks", but that's specifically in the context of Squawks being a purchaseable item that you can stock up on multiples of. Also, Squawks (along with all the other Animal Buddies) seems to just be a regular parrot, rather than a distinct parrotlike species. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 15:30, January 5, 2023 (EST)

DK64 has whole flocks of Squawks. It seems like a Boom-Boom type situation where it's either/or depending on what is convenient for the developers, but splitting pages would only do a disservice to the reading. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:38, January 5, 2023 (EST)

Then maybe a Parrot species page and a Seal species page could be made? Since it's clear that Squawks and Quawks are clearly not the only "Squawks-like parrots" out there (DK64 intro, ending, etc), and that Clapper and the one pirate seal in Gloomy Galleon are not the only seals out there (DK64 intro). --Metalex123 (talk) 16:59, January 6, 2023 (EST)

Those are just duplicates of the established Squawks and Seal characters, and they are background characters with nil effect on the gameplay or even the plot. A separate article just to note their existence, something the articles of the aforementioned two characters already do, would be even less useful than one for each of the random animal NPCs that appear in the Donkey Kong Country Returns intro. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 17:49, January 6, 2023 (EST)

Yeah. There have been on-screen or implied duplicates of the other Animal Friends besides. For example, there are two Enguardes at least in the Coral Capers and Poison Pond levels of the original Donkey Kong Country. I'm also pretty sure I might've seen them referred to in plural a few times in guides or digital manuals. I know for a fact that the Donkey Kong Country Returns Prima guide refers to Rambi as "a Rambi" on page 23, and the same page in the 3DS version guide adds more instances of "a" or "the" Rambi on top of that. And don't the Animal Barrels and No Animal Signs imply there are multiples, too? Plus, had Donkey Kong Racing been released, it'd likely have kept the animal recolors.
