Honestly, I don't think any of this really matters because this must be one of the least-visited pages on the wiki. As long as we have the information and it's decently organized, that's good. Who wants to peruse an endless ocean of unremarkable past video game competitions anyway? I guess it can't hurt to slice it up a bit, though, as long as I'm not the one doing it (for I am inherently lazy). The page is quite bulky, and it's only gonna get bigger and messier. I think it's time it was cut down into pieces, and this proposal aims to decide on the manner in which this is done.
- Option 1: Keep the tournaments in the "Other tournaments" sections here (still grouped based on their "online" and "offline" nature), but split the overarching series into their own pages:
- Mario Kart North American Open
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Seasonal Circuit
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: AU/NZ Grand Prix
- anything else Nintendo develops into something longstanding; a likely candidate in the near future would be the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cups currently in the "Other tournaments (offline)" sections, but they'd remain here for the time being since there have only been 2 of them so far.
- The Tencent tournaments will be relocated into the "Other tournaments" sections on a case by case basis. For instance, if a Tencent tournament was held online, it goes here under the "online tournaments" section.
- Option 2: Split the overarching series as in option 1, but also split the sub-sections under "Tencent tournaments" and "Other tournaments" into their own articles (e.g. anything the likes of Nintendo VS UK Cup, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Super Saturday, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe North American Qualifier 2022). This page is then reincorporated into the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe article as a simple list of links to the resulting pages.
