It really wouldn't make sense for Baby DK to be Cranky Kong. Even given Gorillas' faster aging, Cranky would still need to be at least in his fifties or sixties to look the way he does in modern games. Whereas Mario, Peach, and the others look no older than in their thirties. On the other hand, there really is nothing saying that DK Jr. isn't the same age as Mario (he's actually bigger than Mario is in the original DK Jr. arcade, so he may have been older than we thought he was). - Buddy | |||

Controversy
Sorry to bring this up, buuut its still disputed whether Cranky was the Donkey from the original arcade trilogy. I think this should be mentioned in the article. -- Sir Grodus
It really shouldn't be disputed, since it was stated by Solid Snake in the Super Smash Bros Brawl codec. - Buddy

In the end of DKC2 GBA, Cranky calls DK his "grandson".

He refers to Donkey Kong as son and granson almost interchangebly these days. -- Sir Grodus
