Template:Infobox Super Mario 64 DS for the Nintendo DS is a remake of Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. In it you can play as Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and Wario, compared to the Nintendo 64's version, which only allows you to play as Mario.

In this game, Mario, Luigi, and Wario have been trapped by Bowser's minions due to them going in the castle and the castle getting taken over, and it's up to Yoshi to help collect Power Stars and defeat bosses to unlock them and rescue the castle. Aside from Luigi's great agility and Wario's awesome strength, all of the characters recieve even cooler abilities upon getting a power flower: Yoshi can breathe fire, Wario becomes metal, Luigi turns invisible, and Mario can float. Only Mario can don wings from a red ? block and take to the skies.

As in Super Mario 64, the courses are accessed by the different paintings on the castle's walls, but in the DS game, the player can collect 150 power stars, 30 more than the original game. In addition, Super Mario 64 DS has rabbits which were not in the N64 version. Upon catching one, the active character will receive a key to unlock a mini-game. Each character (Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and Wario) has a certain number of rabbits to catch, and each rabbit gives up one key.
