The Spinning Heart is an helpful object that is found in Super Mario 64; it later reappeared in the remake, Super Mario 64 DS.

The Spinning Heart is basically just a red heart that slowly spins around on the ground as it is remained untouched. When Mario finds one of these objects; Mario can use it by recovering his health bar to renew it. To use this helpful object, Mario has to run into it; when Mario runs into it, the Spinning Heart spins as it attempts to recover Mario's health bar. A sign mentioned that the faster Mario runs into the Spinning Heart; the more Mario's health bar is quickly recovered. In the remake of the game, Super Mario 64 DS, Yoshi, Luigi and Wario can also use this object to recover their own health bars.

These objects appear in Bob-omb Battlefield, Lethal Lava Land, Bowser in the Fire Sea, Hazy Maze Cave, and Cool, Cool Mountain, always in places full of enemies and obstacles where Mario could lose too much health.
