History

Princess Peach: Showtime!

In Princess Peach: Showtime!, Princess Peach and Stella can obtain a Sparkle Gem by completing unsaid quests or side quests, or finding it in different locations. There are ten Sparkle Gems in each transformation's first play; seven in each transformation's second play, and five in BF plays. Every time Peach collects a Sparkle Gem, the game shows the list of Sparkle Gems Peach collected in the stage. According to Stella, Sparkle Gems "are packed with shining power" which can be used to open dark doors. After defeating Grape, three Sparkle Gems can be earned by refighting each boss while fulfilling certain requirements during the battle, and they can be used to buy decorations for the Sparkle Theater lobbies.

Super Mario Run

In Super Mario Run, a Sparkle Gem is granted for completing each of the nine Princess Peach missions during the Princess Peach: Showtime! event. A statue based on the game is unlocked for every three Sparkle Gems earned.
