Shifting Sand Land is a desert that has a pyramid as well as a cap-stealing vulture named Klepto, and the fearsome boss Eyerok. It is the eighth course in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. There are several quick-sand pits, and a large pit of quick-sand surrounding the pyramid and the Tox-Box maze that's impossible to get out of. The outside area is the first part of the level, the second part is inside the pyramid.

Shifting Sand Land was renamed Shifting Sands to appear as a golf course in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.

This level and Snowman's Land are the only levels that have walls as portals.
