Russ T. is an extremely smart Toad that lives in Toad Town, the capital of the Mushroom Kingdom. He spends his days reading his vast collection of books, learning about the world and its secrets. If Mario wants to learn a tip or two, he should visit the studious Russ T.
During General Guy’s raid of Toad Town, Russ T.’s Dictionary is stolen by a Shy Guy thief. Eventually, Mario tracks down the culprit in the Shy Guy's Toy Box, General Guy’s base-of-operations. After a quick battle, Mario defeats the Shy Guy thief and recovers the dictionary. The heroic plumber then returns the dictionary to a thankful Russ T.
Later, after Mario discovered a text written in the ancient Shy Guy language, the plumber returns to Russ T. for help. Using his dictionary, Russ T. deciphers the ancient language. As it turns out, the deciphered text is a clue to completing a puzzle in the Shy Guy’s Toy Box. With this new knowledge, Mario leaves Russ T.’s house and returns to dangerous toy box…
