Pepper

A Pepper is a type of spicy food that can either be green, red, or blue. They are most hated food of the Yoshis . However black and white Yoshis seem to like them. Red and Green Peppers appeared in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga and Yoshi's Story and all three appear in Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. In the Mario & Luigi games they serve as stat boosters, Green raises defense, Red raises attack, and Blue raises speed. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, they only affected one character, but in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, they affected both characters currently fighting.

Peppers also appeared as one of the many fruits in Super Mario Sunshine. If Yoshi eats one, he will turn purple, but Yoshi will never require one to hatch out of his egg.
