Phantamanta
Manta Storm is a boss in Super Mario Sunshine. It's a pink sillhouette ghost-like manta-ray that attacks on Sirena Beach. When hit by water, it splits up. After a while, all the clones turn purple and rush towards you.
It leaves a trail of green and yellow electric sludge. If there is even a pixel of it left, Mario can get electrocuted when he touches it. The most effective way to defeat the Manta Storm and the sludge is to spray them with a single, powerful blast. However, it isn't easy. It turns out be one of the hardest bosses in the game. The Manta Storm first divides into two. Each of those Mantas can divide into two more. Each of those divide into four Mantas. Each of those can further divide into four more Mantas making a total of 64 Mantas to defeat. When all of the Mantas have divided fully, they will turn purple and start swarming Mario.
In Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour a name on the scoreboards is Phanta Manta, making most Mario fans call him Phanta Manta. Either name is correct. It may be related to Manta.
