Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a game for the Game Boy Advance. The game finally brings back Mario and Donkey Kong's rivalry from the Marioverse's first game, Donkey Kong.

The game begins with DK watching TV. As he flips through the channels, he sees an ad about the Mini Mario Toys. DK falls in love with the toys instantly. He goes to the Toy Store, but they are sold out. DK turns around and sees the Mario Toy Company and decides to loot the store of all of the toys. Mario's quest is to chase Donkey Kong through 6 worlds to get each toy back. Mario has an assortment of moves, including double jumps, handstands, and the ability to lift objects. The game also includes obstacles such as vines that Mario can climb (a la DK Jr.) and Shy Guys as enemies.

To win each level, Mario must find a key and open up a door to the second half of the level. There, Mario will find the toy that DK dropped. At level 5, Mario leads the mini Mario toys back to their toy chest, however, he must make sure they (and he) do not get crushed by Thwomps or suffer a similar fate. Level 6 is always a battle with DK, where you must throw barrels at him.

Trivia

  • While DK is watching TV, he sees the Shy Guy News and a commercial saying, "Mmm! Bananas! Mmm!"
  • The ad for the toys says, "New Mini Mario toys! They walk! They talk! They even say, 'Oh, mama mia!' Each one comes with its own crystal ball. Buy one! Buy them all! Buy them all! Buy them all. . ."
