An infantile Piranha Plant monster with an eggshell guarding its rear. It charge towards Mario and attempts to pounce on him. Spinning its eggshell will damage it, eventually revealing its vulnerable bottom. Upon being hit for the first time, Peewee Piranha becomes faster and more aggressive, and will pounce twice in a row. An overweight Lakitu which rides a lightning cloud. It can throw multiple Spiny Eggs at once and can generate electricity to shock Mario. In order to defeat King Lakitu, Mario must ride Yoshi and spit its Spinies back at it three times. A large, bipedal robot possessing a similar name and appearance to Megaleg. Digga-Leg shoots out Diggas from the top of its head and stomps around in an attempt to bludgeon Mario. The player must use the Spin Drill to shatter the glass compartment on its underside three times in order to defeat it. A gluttonous, gigantic dragon which chomps down on the surface of its planet to hit Mario. If Gobblegut misses Mario when biting down, it burrows through the core of its planet and emerges out of the other side, at which point its six pulsating bellyache bulges will get stuck in the dirt. Spinning these bulges damages Gobblegut, all six must be destroyed in order to defeat it. Upon losing three of its bulges, Gobblegut becomes enraged and starts biting down faster and more frequently.

It tries to bite Mario with its mandibles. Ground pounding its abdomen damages it. Bugaboom takes flight after being struck once and starts releasing explosive droppings as it flies. A bulky armadillo-like monster with rocky armor. Rollodillo's fleshy bottom needs to be struck four times in order to defeat it, but spin attacks will not work - Rock Mario must roll into it to successfully damage it. In its first phase, Rollodillo runs towards Mario in order to tackle him. After taking a single hit, Rollodillo begins curling into a sphere to roll into Mario, charging towards him up to three times. If Mario successfully dodges, Rollodillo becomes dizzy and vulnerable to Rock Mario's attacks. An ominous snowman's head which continuously rolls towards Mario in order to inflict damage. Mario must spin its red nose three times in order to defeat it. Upon being struck, Sorbetti becomes angered and starts rolling more quickly.

A massive, skeleton shark that is defended by a school of Skeletal Fish Guards. It is vulnerable to shells. As it swims, it destroys underwater pillars in its path. It does not actively pursue Mario, but it summons more Fish Guards as the battle progresses. Bowser's bratty son. He captains a miniature airship that fires Bullet Bills and enflamed cannonballs at Mario. Magikoopas aide Bowser Jr. during the fight. Throwing shells at the airship damages it and eventually makes it sink. Bowser Jr. otherwise has a recurring story presence throughout the game. Mario's arch-nemesis: the fire-breathing king of Koopas. He launches himself skyward-and-back to produce seismic shockwaves and strike Mario. Luring him above a glass panel causes him to crash through and burn his tail on lava. This leaves him vulnerable to a spin attack. He can conjure stone armor and roll like a boulder. He otherwise uses attacks that mirror Mario's abilities, including the spin and Side Somersault. A fast-moving Dino Piranha. Its clubbed tail periodically catches fire. The flames burn Mario and prevent him from spinning the club. After making a successful strike, Fiery Dino Piranha becomes faster; leaves walls of fire in its wake; and spews giant balls of fire. Defeating this boss without being damaged requires well-timed precision.
