Auto confirmed users are defined as users who have had an account on the Mario Wiki for at least one week and have made at least 10 edits. New users gain certain rights upon becoming Auto confirmed. This rank was established on February 21, 2007 as a way to prevent vandals from joining and immediately moving pages en mass e. On November 23, 2009, the restrictions were increased in response to a new wave of vandalism, this time centering around the massive uploading of spam images and the creation of new pages.

Some rights gained upon being Auto confirmed at the end of the one week waiting period include:

  • Moving pages
  • Creating pages
  • Editing semi-protected pages
  • Uploading files from a URL

FAQ

A. They can request for their page to be created by a Sysop.

Q. Can a user become Auto confirmed without making any edits?
A. No. You must make at least 10 edits and they can be on any type of page.

Q. Is there a way to become Auto confirmed more quickly?
A. No, users have to wait for a week to pass.

Q. Do users have to be Auto confirmed to be promoted to Patroller/Sysop/Bureaucrat?
A. Well, kind of. If a user hasn't been on the wiki for at least a week, chances are that that user isn't experienced enough to be promoted.

Q. Can users bypass auto comf irm ?
A. No, every user has to go through the same process.
