A few of the playable characters would later appear in their own franchise titles. Some new Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D information has been revealed, including the release dates and new features! During Nintendo Direct, a Nintendo 3DS remake of Donkey Kong Country Returns was announced, as well as eShop title, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move. Mario Golf: World Tour was also announced, which features Donkey Kong as a playable character. The original Donkey Kong Country trilogy is pulled from Virtual Console for reasons unknown.
