Luigi's Ghost Mansion is a minigame appearing in Nintendo Land for the Wii U. It's loosely based on Luigi's Mansion. The game involves up to four players, wearing costumes much like those of Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi, each armed with a flashlight, aiming to evade the Gold Ghost and use their flashlights to defeat it. The single player controls the Gold Ghost and must try to make the other players faint. If the Gold Ghost is near, a vibration is felt through the Wii Remote. Thunder and lightning will also appear on occasion, making the Gold Ghost briefly visible.

Occasionally, batteries spawn onto the map for players that have run low on batteries. The human players' batteries will eventually run out as they continue to search for the ghost. Sometimes, although rare, a larger, more powerful battery spawns on the map that will upgrade the torch the player is carrying. This torch is gold in colour, and has the ability to revive fallen players faster and deals damage to the ghost at a much faster pace.

The ghost has an ability where it can charge up a purple meter by having the player continually press ZL and ZR buttons on the GamePad. When this meter reaches a certAin limit, all e energy in the human players' torches run completely out of battery, therefore giving the ghost a big advantage.

There are different layouts of the game depending on how many players there are. There appears to be a large mansion level where all five players are in the game, a smaller basement level (that also seems to support five players), and an even smaller factory level, where it may be possible to support over 2 players.

When there is less than 4 players on the human side, then the computer host of Nintendo Land will join in to support them. They only follow specific routes on the map and will turn off their flashlight if a player-controlled human approaches. They cannot be defeated by the ghost player; they can damage the ghost just like an ordinary human player could. When there is only 1 human versus a ghost, then the human player has lives.
