The second area

This level introduces Bob-ombs in the Nintendo Switch remake of the game, and demonstrates their ability to be carried along the gusts of Flower Fans. In the first area, Mario must float upward and use the Bob-ombs to destroy clusters of Bob-omb Blocks and reach the yellow Color Switch. Once done, Mario can reach the key and carry it back to the locked door, but must first use the red Color Switch to activate the red Flower Fans again and reach the door safely.

In the second area, Mario must first drop the Bob-omb after it walks on a red platform by toggling it with a blue Color Switch, then use it to destroy another set of Bob-omb Blocks. Afterwards, Mario must climb a set of Donut Blocks to reach another set of Color Switches, and use them to float the Bob-omb safely across the yellow Flower Fans for him to clear the last set of blocks and reach the Mini-Mario.

Enemies

Present locations

  • Red: In the first area, on the top portion and just above the Bob-omb mortar. Mario can simply use a Bob-omb as a foothold to reach this present.
  • Yellow: In the second area, on the left portion above a diagonal row of Donut Blocks. Mario can either activate the red Flower Fan and float to it, or simply perform a Handstand Jump from the Donut Blocks.
  • Blue: In the second area, on the left portion just below the same diagonal row of Donut Blocks.
