The seven Koopalings before the introduction of Bowser Jr.

The Koopalings are seven of Bowser's children. They each guard a castle in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Note that Bowser Jr., Bowser's eighth and favorite child, is not considered to be a Koopaling, but rather to have replaced the seven Koopas. Additionally, the Koopalings were regular characters on Mario cartoons, however, since the cartoon creators did not want to purchase the copyrights to every Koopaling, they were renamed. The Koopalings are listed below, with their names in the cartoons in parentheses.
