Klaptraps are Kremlings that originated in Donkey Kong Country. They are lizard-like creatures with large mouths, hence their name. They come in blue and red varieties.
Although they generally stay in the Congo Jungle, they occasionally visit the Marioverse. Klaptraps proved to be distractions in the DK Jungle field in Mario Superstar Baseball. The Klaptraps are those annoying creatures that try to bite the outfielder's heels.
They also appeared in Mario Power Tennis in Donkey Kong's course. They tried to bite the player, causing the player to slow down. The more there were the the player moved.
