He was impressed as [[Mario]] got up to the ranks in the Glitz Pit and couldnt wait to battle him. When the time came to fight Mario, now the Great Gonzales, needless to say, he got wooped. When Mario had his records at the Glitz Pit erased he fpught him again and got beaten again. He is ranked number 1 in the Glitz Pit, but is now ranked number 2. He is constantly battling [[Rawk Hawk]] and is constantly being defeated. Unlike Rawk Hawk, he doesnt seem to care. He is first seen battling Rawk Hawk at the beginning of chapter 3.

Gus is a rather annoying guard in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, who demands a toll of 10 coins to pass him. He is also a member of the Robbo Gang. Mario has three options: pay, don't pay or fight him. Defeating him will allow Mario and his team full access to the east side of Rogueport.
