Dark Koopatrol are the strongest type of Koopa enemy in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Much like the Dark Craw, the first Dark Koopatrol encountered, named the Koopinator, is found in the Glitz Pit. It is the last fighter Mario must defeat before his battle with Rawk Hawk.
Dark Koopatrol are purple versions of Koopatrol, and are one of the most powerful enemies in the game.

- Stats: HP: 25, Attack: 5, Defense: 2
- Locations: Glitzville, Pit of 100 Trials (Levels 71-79)
- Tattle: That's a Dark Koopatrol. These guys just totally ooze toughness, don'tcha think? Max HP is 25, Attack is 5 and Defense is 2. After it charges up power, its next attack will be devastating. Try to survive it. It's almost like those red eyes are there to warn you just how tough it is... Or maybe it just doesn't get much sleep...
