Confused is a status ailment from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is indicated by an orange spiral above the victim. When confused, Mario, his partner, or any of his enemies may decide to attack their own teammate. Also, Mario and his partner may disobey commands put in by the player, such as switching partners instead of attacking, defending instead using an item, etc. It is very similiar to the Dizzy ailment.

Vivian's Infatuate attack can Confuse enemies.
