Gus
Gus is an enemy found during the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He is first seen during the Prologue of the game, in which Mario and Goombella can talk to him. Gus is found outside of Professor Frankly's office, guarding the passageway to the far east area of Rogueport. If Mario or his partner walk up to him, he will request a toll of ten coins for them to pass by, though the next time they pass through, they must again pay ten coins. Mario is also given the option to fight Gus, in which once Gus is defeated, Mario never has to pay a toll to pass into the far eastern portion of Rogueport.
Gus is also notable for being a member of the Robbo Gang, and the only one of them that the player can battle. Gus can later be found in Ishnail's hideout, guarding Ishnail himself, along with another Craw — Garf. Gus can only be battled once, but unlike all other enemies that can be battled only once, he is not a semi-boss.
