Super Mario–related role(s) Voice actor for Donkey Kong in the Donkey Kong Country television series
“Almost every role I do they bring up that I was the voice of Donkey Kong. It brings adults back to their childhood and that is a good thing.”
Richard Yearwood

Richard Yearwood is a British-Canadian actor, television host, director and producer who got incorporated with the Mario franchise by voicing Donkey Kong in the Donkey Kong Country television series. He was born in Toronto and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was at a young age. He provided the speaking voice of DK for the entire series as well as his singing voice in "Cranky's Tickle Tonic" (the first recorded episode). All other songs featuring DK were performed by Sterling Jarvis. In 2023, Yearwood reprised his role as Donkey Kong in the fanmade short DKC: Return to Krocodile Isle.[1]
