Barrendale Mesa is the fifth and final planet the player visits in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, accessible after having collected two Purified Darkmess Energy Crystals from the previous planet Terra Flora. There are 13 Memories that the player can unlock. The enemies in Barrendale Mesa are level 22-29.
Mario and heroes first arrive at Barrendale Mesa, and skydive down to the surface due to a storm preventing the WM ARC from landing. They soon meet the planet's warden Momma. Who asks them to repair the Planet's Windmill so the storm will pass and she can build a Shield Buster for Cursa's Stronghold, while sending the heroes transmission to keep them updated. After they repaired the Windmill, they received an unusual transmission from Momma when they returned, it's revealed to be Daphne pretending to be Momma and ambushed the heroes by creating a Darkmess Tentacle that hoisted the garage into the sky and tilts it, causing them to fall into the Darkmess Dimension, it's then revealed that Daphne takes Momma hostage, forcing the heroes through a tough battle to defeat her to save Momma. Cursa takes Daphne away and is ready to defeat the heroes, but it is suddenly incapacitated when Rosalina shows herself, revealing that she has been kidnapped and absorbed by the creature. She is captured again, but not before giving the heroes a projection crystal and opening a portal to help them escape. Through the crystal, the heroes are able to learn the full story: Created from the last remaining fragment of the Megabug, Cursa escaped into space and was able to gain both sentience and power, and now wants to consume the Sparks' energy and take over the galaxy, spreading Darkmess across its planets. During its conquest, it managed to conquer the Comet Observatory and even possess Rosalina after being drawn in by the joy of the Lumas and Rabbids. During its fight with Rosalina, one of her attacks managed to create the Sparks by fusing the latter two together. Cursa then proceeded to form an army of Rabbids to take over the galaxies, steal Bowser's army, and create the Spark Hunters to help it harness more power. Momma then creates her Shield Buster of the heroes to destroy Cursa's barrier on its' stronghold.

GALACTIC ATLAS: BARRENDALE MESA
Barrendale Mesa was not always barren. After arriving, the Rabbids quickly depleted its natural resources with little thought to the future, transforming this once verdant mesa into a wasteland. Momma has changed the Rabbids' attitudes, but changing the landscape will take more time.
Yet the planet is not without charm - its panoramic views inspire, and its canyons offer much in the way of exploration.
