Dark Matter is an obstacle in Super Mario Galaxy, which appears in Bowser's Dark Matter Plant. It appears to be purple-and-black. Bowser was using it to make his galaxy. If the player touches Dark Matter, they will be dissolved, making the player lose a life instantly. It also burns holes in the ground that will make Mario lose a life.
