The Lightning Cup is a representation of four racecourses in Mario Kart DS, each of which is taken from the four previous Mario Kart games. It consists of Choco Island 2, Banshee Boardwalk, Sky Garden and Yoshi Circuit.
The Lightning Cup, referred to as Thunder Cup, was also featured in Mario Kart Super Circuit as a regular cup found between the Flower and Star Cups.
