The Luigi Key is an item in Super Mario 64 DS. The Luigi Key is the second character key to be retrieved in the game. The Luigi Key was created by Bowser and given to King Boo and his army of Boos after they caught Luigi and trapped him behind his door. The key was brought to Big Boo's Haunt, where Mario had to get into a secret room using a Power Flower and navigate through a maze to find King Boo, and defeat him. The Luigi Key is made of gold with a "L" in the center of it, as well as a Luigi Hat on top of it. Once the player unlocks Luigi's door with this key, the Luigi Hat will appear in courses.
