Lord Crump, officer of the X-Nauts.

Lord Crump is a high-ranking X-Naut in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He is second only to Sir Grodus. He guards the second Crystal Star, the Emerald Star as Magnus Von Grapple and the seventh Crystal Star, the Crystal Star as Magnus Von Grapple 2.0. Hoping to steal the fifth Crystal Star, the Sapphire Star, he goes under the name of Four-Eyes in Chapter 5: The Key to the Pirates.

Second in command of the X-Nauts, Lord Crump is always willing to follow Grodus' command. You will fight the somewhat-stupid X-Naut four different times. Your first battle will be against him. Lord Crump also takes part in many of the cutscenes seen throughout the game. After his Magnus von Grapple 2.0 is destroyed, he is sent flying out to space, floating about with Grodus' head. It is rumored that he mananged to return from space, and now bosses around Grodus in Poshley Heights.

Failed Plans

As Mario makes it to Rogueport, he sees Lord Crump attacking Goombella, and fights him in a tutorial battle. After the defeat of Crump, Crump sends in a mob of X-Nauts to tackle Mario, but he and Goombella escape.

Grodus sends him and the Shadow Sirens to Boggly Woods, knowing a Crystal Star was there, located somewhere within the Great Tree. Knowing the Crystal Star belonged to the Punies in the tree, Crump and his men imprisoned the Punies, teamed up with the Punies' enemies, the Jabbies, and performed a search throughout the tree. Their search for the Star didn't go well when Mario, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie and Punio interfered and liberated the Punies. After Mario, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie and the Punies found the Emerald Star, Crump steals it and activates a 5-minute self-destruct mechanism. As Mario and company reach the entrance to the tree, they see that the Puni Elder blocked off Crump's escape, giving them opportunity to force Crump to surrender. Crump was surrounded, so he activated a Magnus Von Grapple Robot to attack, in an attempt to destroy Mario and company and make his getaway with the Emerald Star. But defeating Mario and company and escaping with the Emerald Star was totally unsuccessful when the Magnus Von Grapple Robot was beaten. Upon the defeat of Magnus Von Grapple, Lord Crump and his men were driven out of the Great Tree, and the Puni Elder gave Mario and his team the Emerald Star as a reward.

Lord Crump's Stats and Tattle Information (PM2)

Rogueport Battle

HP: 6

Attack: 1

Defense: 0

Keelhaul Key Battle

HP: 60 (has 30 HP per round), Attack: 3, Defense: 0

Tattle: That's Lord Crump. Not this guy again... Ugh. He just attacks normally, so don't worry much about him... But... those X-Nauts around him are a force to be reckoned with. They're going to attack us with all kinds of weird moves, I can just FEEL it! If we take out their leader, though, they won't have the focus to attack. Get Crump!

Magnus' Stats and Tattle Information (PM2)

Great Tree Battle (vs. Regular Magnus)

HP: 30 (X-Fist: 2), Attack: 2 (X-Fist: 4), Defense: 1 (X-Fist: 0)

Tattle: That's Magnus Von Grapple. It's a giant robot built by the X-Nauts. Lord Crump drives it. Its most effective attack is one that takes advantage of its size: a smothering stomp. IT can also shoot out its fists, which do these super-gnarly rocket punches. Its fists are super powerful, so it's best to knock them down fast. The thing about this robot is I can't tell it looks cool, or really, REALLY stupid...

X-Naut HQ Battle (vs. Magnus 2.0)

HP: 70 (X-Punch: 5), Attack: 6 (X-Punch: 9), Defense: 2 (X-Punch 0)

Tattle: Ah! Magnus Von Grapple 2.0. The upgraded version of Magnus Von Grapple. Its basic attack is a drill move that drops from above. It also sometimes releases its fists for flying X-Punches. When those fists are flying, you may get attacked by the fists and body in one turn... Take care of those low-HP fists early on, trusts me. When the body's HP gets low, It'll fire machine guns and who know what else. It may not look too different from the last version, but it's much stronger, so be careful! I still think the whole design is a little ridiculous, though...
