Bop1996's Archives

Hello, you have reached my talk page. I'm going to warn you straight up that I am a serious nerd about a lot of things and that I will reflect that in our conversation.

If you plan on having an idle conversation, you should probably read my userpage so you have some idea of who I am. I've been around these parts for roughly a year now, and am a patroller, so if you have some sort of question, I can try to answer it or I can refer you to someone who can. I also have a forums account here, so feel free to pm me there as well. I have accounts on MetroidWiki and ZeldaWiki by the same name, so I can attempt to help with any issues regarding those two wikis I suppose.

A few rules you agree to by posting on my talk page:

  1. I will reply on this page
  2. No spamming, flaming, or any type of offensive language
  3. Spelling and grammar should be as correct as possible
  4. Please sign all of your comments or I will add Template:Unsigned to them. If I haven't added the template, that doesn't mean you should add it for me, I probably had a reason.
  5. I can only keep up a coherent conversation in English
  6. For other NIWA wiki users; casual discussion can go on any wiki, wiki-based goes on the wiki it is based on.

Now that that's over with, feel free to create a new header and talk to me.

My current editing status is: Actively patrolling the recent changes

Help!

I need your help back on this talk page! I am not trying to revive that arguement or start a new one, I just have a question I need answered. Please use the link I provided.M&L Beware my fury! 13:22, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I saw and answered, as you seem to have seen. Bop1996 (Talk)
Yeah. Anyway, thanks. You really seem to know just about everything on this wiki!M&L Beware my fury! 13:34, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I don't know everything, just most of the problems that new users seem to run into. But thank you for the compliment anyway. Bop1996 (Talk)
You're welcome. I was exaggerating a bit. You seem to be famous at correcting peoples grammar and spelling, because somebody has an userbox that says he's friends with Bop1996, and wishes he would stop correcting my grammar. I didn't design it, I just saw it and though you ought to know. It doesn't mention anything about it intending to be offensive, so it may be an insult. Actually, the somebody is Mario4Ever, so it might not be offensive, but still... anyway, thanks for all the help, you've really taught me a lot.M&L Beware my fury! 14:04, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I made that intentionally, and it was just part of my quirkiness I suppose, so I'm not upset at all. I do try to correct any grammar and spelling mistakes I see though, so it does seem somewhat fitting. Bop1996 (Talk)
Oh, I see now. About that article from before, though: is the In-Game description section really neccesary? The article gives all that information above, the only difference is how it is worded and it is slanted. Wait, would something like this go on the articles talk page?M&L Beware my fury! 14:16, 18 January 2012 (EST)
You can ask me or another admin if you have questions, or you can just post it on the talk page. Anyway, to answer your question: those sorts of information do get sections, unless they're redundant with something on the infobox, so the section on In-Game Description should stay. Bop1996 (Talk)
Alright, thanks for the help(once again...)!:)M&L Beware my fury! 14:27, 18 January 2012 (EST)
By the way, that Lord Grammaticus guy from the talk page is going around and bad mouthing me. He posted the comments I left on GalacticPetey's and Mario4Ever's talk pages on Raven Effect's, without the updated ones showing my appologies, and is writing rude things about me on his talk page. Come to think of it, he was also a bit rude to me on the first talk page with the stub arguement. Can you go to his talk page and sort things out?(And while you're there, can you slap him upside the head for me?)M&L Beware my fury! 14:55, 18 January 2012 (EST)
He posted those links before your apologies and amended behavior, so there wasn't a link of your apology to link to at the time he wrote those comments. He didn't do anything wrong, and you're upset with him for not acknowledging something that hadn't even happened yet. And I didn't see him say anything rude with regards to the article either. Bop1996 (Talk)
Fine, but Raven Effect's been pestering me too. He left a comment on my talk page, but I left a response. Since I changed my rules (as I wrote in a new header, you can vote wether to change the rules back or keep them this way) I left a few swears, but Raven Effect got what he deserved. Please don't judge me for this, and try and vote whether or not I should have rules against swearing on my talk page. Look forwards to seeing your comments!M&L Beware my fury! 15:12, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Raven Effect was blunt, but he was correct. And again, he left that comment last night after you posted those comments on Mario4Ever's and GalacticPetey's talk pages, but before you apologized, so he wasn't pestering you, really. As for your talk page rules, they're up to your personal preferences (within reason), so I'm not really concerned about those. Bop1996 (Talk)
So I don't need to have a vote on it?M&L Beware my fury! 15:24, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Not if you don't want to. Bop1996 (Talk)
Okay, I will stop it (unless someone has already voted). By the way, if we're going to continue this discussion, should we make a new header, or would making a new header be for future discussions? If we should create a new header, answer this questio under this header and I will reply under a new one.M&L Beware my fury! 15:32, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I don't care if you make a new header or not. Bop1996 (Talk)
Okay, I was just asking. Hey, would articles like this one be considered a stub? Use the link to see which article I'm talking about before you reply.M&L Beware my fury! 15:36, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Bop before you say anything i would like to point out that there is no information that can be added to the article Raven Effect (talk)
You! You saw that I said defending articles like Pure Water was a waste of your time, so now you're trying to save it, huh?M&L Beware my fury! 15:40, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Really so if you say something i'm just supposed to back down i'm defending an article from being called something it's not Raven Effect (talk)
It doesn't appear to have any information available to be added to the article, so it would not be classified as a stub. Bop1996 (Talk)
But the talk page is longer than it!M&L Beware my fury! 15:43, 18 January 2012 (EST)
It's not about length it's about content and the fact is that if no information can be added an article can not be called a stub Raven Effect (talk)
Face it, no information could have been added when it was being created.M&L Beware my fury! 15:46, 18 January 2012 (EST)
If an article has a valid amount of info or the maximum amount of info possible, it's not a stub. It's as simple as that. Bop1996 (Talk)
OK, I'm wrong, but I still think that protecting it from being called a stub was a waste of his time.M&L Beware my fury! 15:51, 18 January 2012 (EST)
It was just an example for comparison purposes, not starting an argument over the status of Pure Water. Bop1996 (Talk)
Right, I'll forget about it, but is it possible to add anymore information to it? Surely there has to be something that somebody forgot, right? I would add information, but I don't own the game so I don't really know anything about it, but if you do could you please add it?M&L Beware my fury! 18:56, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I couldn't think of anything to add without being redundant, but I don't have a highly specialized knowledge of the subject matter, so someone with more familiarity with the game might think of something. Bop1996 (Talk)
Alright, all that's left to do with this situation is wait for someone more knowledgeable to add more.M&L Beware my fury! 19:18, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Well, that's assuming that there is anything to add, which probably isn't true. Bop1996 (Talk)
Yeah, you're probably right... we should just leave it like it is.M&L Beware my fury! 19:27, 18 January 2012 (EST)

Un-Stubify

Hello, Bop1996. I have a question for you: are you part of the Un-Stubify PipeProject? I am, but I can't find any articles that are stubs that I know anything about so I can't help much.M&L Beware my fury! 20:12, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I'm not active in any PipeProjects except MarioWikify. You can improve articles without going through and destubbing them, though, if you improve the writing or layout of articles, so try there if you can't find any articles to destub. Bop1996 (Talk)
Sure, I'll look for any articles that need improvement.M&L Beware my fury! 20:53, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Just changed the Yoob article. It was a miracle I did, because it lacked a lot of information and some of the information it did have was false.M&L Beware my fury! 21:13, 18 January 2012 (EST)
I just fixed the Dark Koopa (Super Paper Mario) article, it is now no longer a stub.M&L Beware my fury! 21:38, 18 January 2012 (EST)
Good job. Bop1996 (Talk)
Thanks. It wasn't that hard, though.M&L Beware my fury! 21:45, 18 January 2012 (EST)

Dude, user problem

A user called User:Super Radio keeps creating the Wario enemies page, and many users have told him to stop. If he does it again, can you report it to Lindsay151, or can you just block him yourself? You're a patroller. And oh, have a good day.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by ShadowIke2008 (talk).

I've already reported It to Lindsay151. Please consider blocking Super Radio (talk). Thanks!

Hmmm. That's a good idea actually.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by ShadowIke2008 (talk).

The situation with the actual list seems to have been rectified, and the situation with Super Radio's behavior is under discussion. Bop1996 (Talk)

Yessir! 'Shroom Spotlight Shokora (talk · edits)

Is under discussion, huh?

I understand you all. And I am sorry... for the last time. I'm curious, in the non-internet community, I have a good behavior. I'm not trying to excuse me. Just please, don't make the conflict bigger, OK?

And please, leave a comment after you read this.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Super Radio (talk).

There will be no actions taken to purposefully ignite conflict or stir up trouble. However, if the administrative team agrees that your behavior merits some kind of action according to policy, then that action will be taken. Bop1996 (Talk)

I responded there, sorry about missing that reply. And please indent your comments with colons instead of asterisks). Bop1996 (Talk)

Warning

1)Yes, true, my behave was inappropiate but is i normal/legal to get 5 WARNINGS from just the SAME post? I agreed the first warning but than I got 4 more warnings from the same issue. Su I offer< x <demand to delete my warning ...

2)"Creature of indeterminate gender" was not a part of showing my anger or with your words: "flaming" Antony's posts and relate was "birdo"s so I used Birdo's description from brawl to take his attention, not to show my fury.

3)Can you people please stop reffering "showing rage" issue as "flaming"? Really, thats not even a real word, it made up from internet! If I use "freezing" as "Showing gloom" in internet, will people use it? NO, thats why "flaming" , is an inappropiate word.

Sincerely, --KamekSW2YI.pngSinanco {talk&edits}Kamek artwork 05:52, 25 January 2012 (EST)

Sinanco, flaming is a real word: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/flame#Verb ((Internet) To post a destructively critical or abusive message, especially to provoke dissent or controversy). If behavior is out of line in a disproportionate way, it's ok to get five warnings, to the point where you'll face a block against your account. If you think your warning is in error, appeal central is the place to get admin judgement on your warnings, although I think this will fail, given that the sysops agreed for this warning to be issued. I hope I could have helped. --Bryce emoticon-00159-music.gif talk emoticon-00159-music.gif contributions 07:15, 25 January 2012 (EST)
