A star piece is an item that can be used to buy things. It appears in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
In Paper Mario, It can be used for various things: mainly buying badges and finding Items. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, they are used for buying badges. Perhaps in both of these games they can be used for something else?
