Chomp Shark

Chomp Sharks, or Shark Chomps, are giant sized Chain Chomps without a chain in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Although they aren't underwater, they can fly, and this is a trouble for Yoshis and Baby Mario. The second-to-last level in the game is called KEEP MOVING!!!!, and for good reason too. Several Chomp Sharks appear and make backtracking impossible.

There will be a point where the Chomp Shark will keep attempting to chomp on Yoshi and miss and, as a result, chomp on a hard platform (where the Yoshi can land on safely to avoid the Chomp) and therefore, gets its teeth broken. The Chomp Shark will be hurt from the pain (note the tear dangling under the eye) and fall into the pit below the platform. Chomp Sharks usually appear over a wide pit and chomp through breakable platforms (to get Yoshi).
